Cheers for 9/11 Day Volunteers

What an incredible outpouring of service, energy and enthusiasm our team members gave for our 9/11 Day of Service event!  This year, a record 315 SRS and Heritage team members came together in 21 cities across the country to volunteer alongside thousands of others in a spirit of unity, service and tribute. Their support made this the most successful year ever for 9/11 Day. With their help, a total of 8.6 million meals were packed for people struggling with food insecurity.  

Their gifts of time created such a huge impact to feed a hungry child or adult in each city and also built camaraderie and teamwork with other SRS and Heritage team members in each city.  Sharing this note from one of our NYC volunteers which may best express why we take part in this special 9/11 event and our mission and culture are dedicated to Give Back!

“Our terrific volunteers did an excellent job representing SRS’s core beliefs by giving back today. Our team led the room of hundreds of others by packing a thousand meals for people in need. Speaking from experience of one who worked a few blocks from the Trade Center back in 2001 and lost dozens of friends and colleagues, I’m proud to be part of this effort.”
