McKinney, TX – October 7, 2015:

The SRS Raise the Roof Foundation proudly supported the George W. Bush Center’s 5th Annual Warrior Open Golf Tournament that took place on September 29-30, 2015 at Las Colinas Country Club near Dallas, Texas. The sponsorship by the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation was part of the Foundation’s support of the George W. Bush Center’s Military Service Initiative. The Bush Center’s Military Service Initiative (MSI) honors the service and sacrifice of post-9/11 veterans and military families by bridging the civilian-military divide and fostering a successful transition and reintegration from military service to civilian life. The SRS Raise the Roof Foundation has pledged to donate $100,000 to the Bush Center’s Military Service Initiative, by making an annual donation of $20,000 from 2014 through 2018.

The Warrior Open is a competitive 36-hole golf tournament, including an 18-hole Pro-Am.  The event honors U.S. service members who serve and sacrifice to defend the United States of America and heralds the many effective organizations that give their time, talents and resources to support the men and women of our military and their families.

“Supporting our military heroes is one of the core programs of the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation,” Ron Ross, Chairman and CEO of SRS Distribution Inc., said.  “We are proud to be able to partner with President George W. Helping Wounded Warriors Reunite with Loved Ones

As we approach Christmas and the holiday season, it’s important to remember that the safety enjoyed by the United States is a result of the efforts of millions in our armed services. Those who fought (and fight) for our country put their lives on the line every day. Far too often, veterans come home wounded from a tour overseas.

Whatever hospital a wounded vet returns to, there is no assurance loved ones have the resources to come visit and provide emotional, physical and psychological support to their family member in the military service. Many families cannot afford to visit their son or daughter, particularly if the cost of a commercial airline ticket is involved. That’s where Luke’s Wings comes in.

Luke’s Wings express mission is to reunite wounded members of the U.S. military with their families. The organization raises money through donations to help make this happen, and is currently holding a “No Soldier Spends Christmas Alone” campaign.

“This past year, SRS Raise the Roof Foundation donated $120,000 to Luke’s Wings to help them with campaigns like this. One of the most important times of year for families to reunite and provide support is during the Christmas and holiday season, and we are extremely proud to be able help veterans who are hospitalized or rehabbing from injuries sustained during their service,” said Rich Ross, Executive Director of the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation.

Along with the $120,000, SRS Raise the Roof Foundation has earmarked $150,000 for Luke’s Wings in 2016. “It’s the right thing to do. We’ve seen the joy it brings to our veterans’ faces, and recognize that only through these types of contributions can we make it happen,” Ross said.

The goal of the “No Soldier Spends Christmas Alone” campaign is to ensure enough travel funds have been raised to ensure free airplane tickets are available to those in need. No government program provides this assistance. Private donations make it happen.

“This campaign will reunite our wounded warriors, veterans and heroes with their loved ones when they need them the most. It’s a great cause, and for those who wish to contribute further, individual donations are accepted,” Ross added.

All donations received by the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation in the month of December 2015, will be matched by the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation and given to Luke’s Wings “No Soldier Spends Christmas Alone” campaign. Minuteman Disaster Response Benefits from $50,000 Contribution

McKinney, TX – July 10, 2015:

When a disaster occurs, Minuteman Disaster Response goes into action.  The organization is set up to augment the efforts of federal, state and local first responders, who are the first on the scene to assess damage and begin the crucial initial steps in cleanup and protection of communities and its citizens.

Their efforts take a huge commitment of resources.  Equipment and people must be deployed quickly and efficiently.  To help Minuteman Disaster Response, the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation recently donated $50,000 to their efforts.  The money is specifically targeted for the purchase of a vehicle that is used on-site by the responders after a disaster strikes.

The vehicle is designed to relay information rapidly to news stations.  Personnel operating the vehicle are able to talk with meteorologists , using specific predictive equipment to share on-the-ground weather events, helping those sharing weather news increase their accuracy.

“Disaster relief is one of the core areas the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation supports,” Ron Ross, Chairman and CEO of SRS Distribution Inc. and of the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation, said. “We are proud to support an organization like Minuteman Disaster Response to help protect the lives of others through providing potentially life-saving information and medical response to those who have been negatively affected by natural disasters.”

The SRS Raise the Roof Foundation intends to continue to support the efforts of Minuteman Disaster Response through annual general contributions to their organization.
