RECAP- Dodge for a Cause Event Benefiting Vogel Alcove

Thank you to all of the Corporate and DFW Southern Shingles folks who came out last week to the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas to support the Dodge for a Cause event benefiting Vogel Alcove. It was a very fun event, and while the SRS Hail Stormers narrowly missed out on a playoff spot, the event was a huge success. With the donation made by the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation, along with the several other organizations represented at the event, Weil, Gotshal, & Manges LLP was able to raise $53,500 for Vogel Alcove. Please see below for some information about Vogel Alcove and some pictures from the event.

As our business continues to grow, so does our responsibility to give back to our communities. Here at SRS, we are committed to making our communities better and we look forward to continuing to be a part of events like this that benefit great causes!

Thanks for your support of this event and of the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation!

Luke's Wings

SRS Acquisition Corporation Proudly supports Luke's Wings: http://www.lukeswings.org/

Luke’s Wings
was founded in January of 2008 by a group of young people who observed the struggles of our wounded warriors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Luke’s Wings was named after two people, Luke Shirley (a wounded warrior at Walter Reed who lost an arm and a leg in an EID blast) and Sarah Wingfield, a Redskins Cheerleader Ambassador who was visiting the troops at Walter Reed in May, 2007 when she met Luke…ergo, “Luke’s Wings.”

STAFF SARGEANT TRAVIS MILLS, US ARMY

SRS Raise the Roof Foundation Proudly Supports Staff Sergeant Travis Mills and His Family:

United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne, on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, was critically injured on April 10th, 2012 by an IED (improvised explosive device) while on patrol, losing portions of both legs and both arms. He is only the fourth quadruple amputee, from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, to survive his injuries. Thanks to his amazing strength, courage, an incredible will to live, the heroic actions of the men in his unit, and the prayers of thousands, Travis has returned to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, near Washington DC, where he is on the road to recovery. Every day is a battle, but Travis continues to astound friends and family alike with his progress and with his amazing spirit. SSG Travis Mills is a genuine American hero, and for his incredible sacrifice, we are forever in his debt. More...
